Reckon True Stories Season One Finale: Samantha Irby

Hi friends,

Our summer of Reckon True Stories was truly wonderful, but it’s now it’s time to say goodbye for the season. And we have an amazing guest to see us out.

This week Deesha Philyaw and Kiese Laymon welcome the incredible Samantha Irby, on the art of comedy writing.

Listen in your favorite podcast app, and be sure to follow the show so you don’t miss an episode:

Samantha Irby: “You know what’s the wildest thing to me, like hearing my work referenced, so many people have reached out and been like, Hey, I was on Hinge or Bumble or Tinder and there’s some guy who’s talking about reading your book. And I’m like…you should f— him. Skip the dinner, just f— him. Even if he knows who I am. Who cares if he’s read the books? Go. Yes, that’s your boyfriend now. So that to me is the highest honor, is people using my stupid cat book on their Tinder to hook up with people.”

Thank you for listening!
